A warm welcome

VISITORS to a new Youth Village will get an especially warm welcome thanks to a contract between its builder and a heating specialist.

Felling firm Able Construction has brought in Gateshead heating company Myson to fit an innovative form of underfloor heating to the new centre it is creating in Consett for the Roman Catholic Diosese of Newcastle and Hexham.

To make the site environmentally friendly, Myson is fitting Geowarmth Heat Pumps Ltd to put ground source heat pumps and heating into the four buildings, which will provide accommodation for up to 100 young people. The system uses the natural warmth of the earth to heat its radiators.

Since Geowarmth began working with underfloor heating systems two years ago, the business has built up a close working relationship with Myson.

John Withers, managing director of Geowarmth, said: “We like working with Myson for a number of reasons, including good service and their very professional approach, but it is also great that they are based in the North East and can provide our installers with training specific to their product on site at their Team Valley Trading Estate head office.”

Barry Lynch, group products manager for Myson, said: “Relationships with businesses such as Geowarmth are hugely important to Myson and it is great to see that relationship is thriving.”

The Youth Village, which will house a group of international volunteers, will provide a variety of youth ministry opportunities across schools and parishes throughout the North East.
