St Oswald’s Hospice suite keys handed over

TYNESIDE builder Dorin has completed work creating a new £2.8m unit at a hospice after a year of work.

The Newcastle company has formally handed over the keys of the new day services outpatient suite at the St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth to the staff and volunteers.

Simon Campbell, contracts manager for Dorin Construction, said: “This is a significant milestone for this project and we’re delighted to have completed the building phase of this modern and attractive building.

“We’ll now start work on fitting out the rooms and installing the necessary high-tech equipment which will completely transform the building and provide much needed facilities for many patients across the region.

“We see works in the Health Care Sector as a growing part of our business and know this scheme will demonstrate further our ability and experience.”

Alongside Dorin Construction, the project team includes Architects JDDK, Construction Consultant RNJ, Structural Engineers BDN and Service Engineers, SINE Consulting.

The suite has eight purpose-built treatment and therapy rooms, a patient assessment room, a reception area and a patient and carer information point. There will also be of offices.
