THREE consortia are left in the running for North Tyneside Council’s £200m Older People, Homes for the Future housing PFI project.
The shortlist is expected to be reduced to two in the next few weeks, with the three teams comprising property developer First Class Homes alongside Bedfordshire-based Kier, S4 (Solutions for North Tyneside), which includes Equitix, Gleeson and Miller, and TyneCare, which includes Robertson Capital Projects, Morgan Sindall, Barclays Capital and Sunderland housing group Gentoo.
Initial bids from the three consortia were submitted in April.
The project involves 32 sites, 12 of which will involve the refurbishment of existing sheltered housing schemes, 13 will see new schemes developed, and seven sites will see existing housing demolished to be released for other purposes.
