Strong shortlist shows strength of industry

CONSTRUCTING Excellence in the North East (CENE) has unveiled the finalists for this year’s annual awards. The awards recognise the achievements of projects and companies from across the region.

With 12 categories that celebrate projects and organisations shortlisted for excellence, it’s hoped the night will be a celebration of the brilliant work carried out by the region’s construction industry.

The awards aim to highlight the work of a diverse range of clients, contractors, and consultants in the region. Represented in the shortlist are projects as diverse as the preservation of the Lindisfarne Priory, and the development of the James Cook University Hospital Oncology Ward.

This year’s winners will be announced later this month at a ceremony taking place in the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel.

CENE’s chief executive Catriona Lingwood said: “This year’s shortlist is exceptionally strong, which made it a particularly difficult decision for this year’s Judges.

“We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone in the shortlist for the incredibly high standard of entries and the hard work that has been put in across the year.

“Despite the slow recovery of the economy, this shortlist shows that the North East has continued to develop, innovate and grow this year.

“I am proud to announce the shortlist for this year’s awards and look forward to an exciting and entertaining awards show.”
