First woman role for comapny secretary

COMPANY secretary Moya McGregor of Coupe Construction at Birtley, County Durham, is the first woman to be elected to the management board of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (North East).

Goodyear, who lives in Chester- le-Street, has been with Coupe Construction for 20 years and will serve on the CECA (NE) member board for two years initially.

Douglas Kell, the association’s North East director, said: “Moya is a well-known, hard-working and well-respected figure in the region’s industry.

“Her election at our annual meeting also indicates our association’s wish to see women able to play an even bigger part in the success of our businesses, be it as administrators or apprentices and now board members.”

Derek Ginsberg, managing director of Wyn Construction in Cornsay, County Durham, and John Dickson, executive chairman of Owen Pugh at Cramlington, Northumberland, were re-elected to serve a second year as chairman and vice-chairman respectively of the 15-year-old Newcastle based association.

It represents the interests of 75 contractors between Berwick and Whitby.
