Four Housing Group complete Saltburn development

The Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Olwyn Peters, and chief executive of Four Housing Group, Martin Knowles celebrate the opening of Norwood

HOUSING association Four Housing Group has completed a sheltered accommodation development at Saltburn after a year of successful partnership working and community engagement.

The group transformed a Victorian building which originally housed a residential care home and a coach house. It has 10 units of self-contained sheltered accommodation for people with learning disabilities.

Norwood received funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and was commissioned by Redcar and Cleveland Council Adult Services to provide more housing options for people with learning disabilities in the borough.

Lynda Peacock, director of development and Regeneration, for Four Housing Group, said, “Four Housing Group is proud to have worked in partnership with Redcar and Cleveland Council, and the HCA on such an important community housing development.” The development has taken nearly three years from concept to completion.

Leader of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Councillor George Dunning, said, “Four Housing Group have breathed new life into a building that was no longer sustainable, for many reasons as a Residential Care Home and created really high quality homes for people to be part of the Saltburn community.”
