GALLIFORD Try Partnerships has appointed Stephen McCoy, pictured right, as managing director of its North East division, which employs more than 100 staff in Ponteland.

McCoy, 44, joins from regeneration contractor Frank Haslam Milan where in 18 years he has worked his way up from quantity surveyor. He will lead the North East division as it begins on the major £347m Gateshead regeneration programme in conjunction with Newcastle- based housing association Home Group and Gateshead Council.
