TWO Teesside businesses that found themselves homeless at six hours notice have said a big thank you to a business support team that swung into action to put a roof over their heads in double-quick time.
Sign Art and Class Fundraising, neighbours in a Redcar business unit, were shocked to be told that they had to vacate their business premises the same day.
But both companies are now heaving a huge sigh of relief in their new units at UK Steel Enterprise’s Innovation Centre on the Kirkleatham Business Park at Redcar.
“We still can’t quite believe that we were able to move in so quickly,” said Eddie Guy, who runs the signage company Sign Art with his son Harry and wife Kathy.
They design, manufacture and install bespoke signs, vehicle graphics, wall wraps, banners and print.
“We expected to have to find temporary crisis accommodation then look for somewhere permanent and move all over again.
The team at UK Steel Enterprise are fantastic and had us moved in to a workshop unit that is ideal for us with all the facilities we need and a phone line and broadband up-and-running within hours.
“It was a nightmare scenario for any small business but we managed to keep the business running as normal and not let any customers down.”
Simon Fulton and Mark Simpson, who run Class Fundraising, had to move heavy pieces of printing equipment out of the building quickly and find a new home.
