£500 bursaries in store for good causes

A TEESSIDE shopping centre is offering to help local good causes and community groups.

Middlesbrough’s Hillstreet has four £500 bursaries up for grabs.

And all groups need to do is to write to the centre manager to submit an application and explain why they should receive £500.

Hillstreet Shopping Centre says it is committed to its local community and already has strong links with junior football club Kader FC and many other similar organisations.

There are no criteria for applying other than being reasonably close to Middlesbrough town centre.

Peter Drabble, Hillstreet centre manager, said: “After contributing to many different worthy causes we have decided that we will invite local community groups and charities to write in and tell us about their fantastic work or aspirations.

“This will allow us to donate cash bursaries to four different local projects or charities.

“We look forward to receiving requests, providing the donations and most of all being able to see how they have helped.”

The closing date is Friday, March 16. Send to: Peter J Drabble, Centre Manager, Hillstreet Shopping Centre, Middlesbrough, TS1 1SU or email Hill.street@btconnect.com.
