Forum celebrates an 'excellent' first year
A business networking organisation set up with a blank 'sheet of paper' will celebrate its first anniversary next week with over 200 members.
Castle Morpeth Business Forum was set up last November to give business in the borough a chance to network, build job opportunities and strengthen the local economy. And it has already exceeded expectations.
Forum chairman Charles Sellers, of Fusion Marketing, said: "When we launched 12 months ago, we started with a blank sheet of paper.
"The response has been greater than ever anticipated so we are seeing local authorities copying our model."
Members have enjoyed many business opportunities. James Cookson, of Meldon Park-based Flying Fox Sales and Marketing Solutions, said: "It's been excellent for learning and meeting people.
"I have picked up business at the Forum sessions which could result in us having to employ further people.
"I have also learnt about development trusts and local strategic partnerships."
