Window firm goes for growth

A CLEVELAND manufacturer is investing £250,000 in 12 new jobs, office space and machinery, following a surge in customer orders.

Windows and doors manufacturer H Jarvis of Marske, which is contracted by some of the country’s top housebuilders, has expanded its capacity, following a review of its production processes.

The company, which has seen its order book grow in recent months has significantly expanded its capacity with the addition of a second production line, and is now equipped to produce 2,000 units per week.

H Jarvis, which employs 75 people, is also extending its office space within the factory to accommodate up to 12 new customer service and accounts staff.

Dave Glendinning, managing director of H Jarvis said: “We have concentrated our efforts on delivering high quality products to the housebuilding and commercial sectors, backed with a first-rate service, and our continued success shows that this approach is proving extremely effective.

“We are committed to maintaining this success and will invest in the business to ensure that we are as efficient and up-to-date as possible, utilising all our resources as effectively as we can.”

H Jarvis Ltd specialises in manufacturing windows and doors for some of the country’s top housebuilders, including Persimmon and Taylor Woodrow.

The company took the decision to expand after carrying out a review of production processes at its 50,000 sq ft factory in conjunction with Durham University and the DTI manufacturing advisory service.

Established in 1878, H Jarvis Ltd provides a window and door design, fabrication and installation service for the housebuilding industry across the north of England and Scotland.

In addition, the company works with local authorities and schools in the region.
