Traders’ terror lesson
BUSINESSES in Stockton were given a chilling insight into the horrific effects of a terrorist attack.
Experts from Project Argus, a National Counter Terrorism Security Office initiative, visited the town to offer life-saving advice on the prevention and handling of bombings and chemical attacks.
The three-hour multi-media simulation and discussion gave traders and service providers the opportunity to learn valuable lessons in how to protect businesses and communities.
Organised by Stockton Council and Cleveland Police, the seminar, which was attended by up to 60 people, was held to raise awareness of possible terrorist threats. It highlighted the importance of preparation and having plans in place to safeguard staff, customers and company assets.
A team of experts were on hand at the meeting to answer queries on the response of the emergency services.
Project Argus is a two-year programme with events running in more than 200 cities and principal towns across the UK.
