ASTON Workshop in Beamish, County Durham, is revving up to the New Year with the launch of its 2008 Aston Martin calendar.
The calendar showcases a selection of high-quality, atmospheric shots from the Aston Art collection.
Tim Wallace, of Ambient Life Photography, visited the workshop to take photos of the cars for a personal project and Aston Workshop owner, Bob Fountain was so impressed he asked Tim to develop a selection of artwork as part of their gift range. The finished pieces are available to buy on www.astonart.com
Tim said: “I’m delighted with the calendar as I really enjoyed taking pictures of such beautiful cars. Aston Martin cars are great subjects for photography using natural light as they have fantastic form and shape. The calendar looks really stylish and I’m really pleased with the finished article.”
Aston Workshop specialises in sourcing and sales of Aston Martins and their repair and restoration.
The company was founded in 1988 by enthusiast Bob Fountain to restore and repair the classic car using traditional methods and time-honoured techniques with the utmost care and attention to detail.
The business has grown steadily through word of mouth and reputation and the Workshop now spans 35,000 square feet. It has one of the largest showrooms of new and used Aston Martins in the North-East with around 60 models on display.
Bob Fountain, owner of the Aston Workshop said: “I think the calendar really captures the Aston Martin style. We are continually thinking of new products and services that we can offer customers and we think that the calendar makes a fantastic Christmas gift for someone who appreciates the unique beauty of the Aston Martin.”
More than 50% of sales come from overseas with a large proportion coming from the USA, Europe and Asia where the Workshop arranges for cars to be transported to the North-East for some tender loving care.
Its website www.aston.co.uk is believed to be the second most visited site after Aston Martin’s own and attracted 250,000 unique visitors last year.
The calendar is now available to buy on-line for £11.99.
