DAVID MOORHOUSE has been appointed a director of KPMG.
The 47-year-old moved to Newcastle from KPMG’s Leeds office last year to share his internal audit and risk management expertise with KPMG’s corporate and public sector clients in the North-East and further the office’s rapid expansion.
One of David’s key strengths lies in advising public sector organisations on their risk management and control frameworks.
He built up a wealth of experience in this area during 11 years working within local government finance functions prior to his 14 years at KPMG.
Since joining KPMG in Newcastle David has worked with all of the office’s public sector clients, covering central and local government, regional organisations and the higher and further education sector.
David, who lives in Corbridge with his wife, is dual qualified; as a member of both the Association of Accounting Technicians and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. In addition to his day job he is also vice chairman of CHEIA, the national body for Higher Education Internal Auditors.
Mick Thompson, partner, KPMG in Newcastle said: “David has thoroughly earned his promotion to director. His contribution to clients of our public sector and risk management services in the North-East has been extremely valuable.”
MICHELLE SIMPSON has joined Kelburn Recruitment to manage and develop two specialist divisions – Kelburn HR and Kelburn Finance.
Michelle has more than 10 years’ professional recruitment experience across both finance and HR markets.
She already has a high profile as one of the North-East’s top HR recruiters and is looking forward to the challenge of building a specialist service for finance and HR professionals.
Century FM has boosted its sales team with the appointment of DAVID LEE as field sales manager.
David, who lives in Woodham, County Durham, joins the station after 12 years at Metro Radio where he was an account manager.
His role will be to drive local revenue across Century FM, as well as the day to day management of the local sales team.
David, who is married with two children, said: “Joining Century FM will be a fresh new challenge for me and is especially exciting as the team is moving into new offices very shortly alongside new station Smooth Radio.
“GMG Radio is one of the few radio groups at the moment which is expanding and investing, so it was too good an opportunity to miss. I’m really looking forward to working with the team on such a well-established brand.”
Debbie Bowman, managing director of 100-102 Century FM, said: “We’re delighted to welcome David to the Century team. His track record in radio is fantastic and we’re really looking forward to working alongside him.”
