Now’s the time to join graduate Kim

TEESSIDE graduate Kim Senior is building a bright future in retail with Marks and Spencer.

Kim, who studied marketing at Teesside University, is one of six graduates in the North-east who were chosen for the coveted training posts last year.

She has been working at the M&S MetroCentre store in Gateshead since last summer and is training to become a commercial manager.

“I joined Marks and Spencer as a full-time adviser while I was studying for my master’s degree,” she said.

“I’ve already learned a lot about management, leadership and how to motivate people – the career development opportunities are endless.”

There’s still time for Tees Valley graduates to apply to Marks and Spencer’s graduate programme, with the deadline for applications December 14.

The recruitment team will have the difficult task of choosing just 200 bright sparks from thousands of applications.

They will select 160 university graduates, who will permanently join M&S from September 2008, as well as 40 undergraduates who will join the Business Placement Programme for a year’s work experience as part of their degree.
