Turbo-charged expansion

A TEESSIDE engineering business has invested £640,000 in new premises to accommodate its ongoing expansion.

Turboactive, an independent turbocharger company specialising in the supply of new and reconditioned turbochargers for automotive, commercial, plant and agricultural equipment, has moved into a new 10,200sq ft warehouse at the 700-acre Wynyard Park development.

In the past 10 years the firm, formerly based at the Hartlepool Workshops on the Usworth Road Industrial Estate, has seen constant growth and development.

Mark Watson, managing director, said the move to Wynyard Park would help the company grow and run more efficiently.

“We have had the building specifically designed to accommodate our machinery, workforce and specific requirements, which is great advantage in meeting the increasing demand of our customers,” he said.

“We’ve already created five new roles in line with the move, taking our workforce up to 20 and there is the potential to take on more new staff .”

The Turboactive unit forms part of the Evolution scheme at Wynyard Park.
