Superstore venture shows the signs are good
A SIGN company which provided the new Boro badges for the Riverside Stadium has invested in a Teesside superstore.
Middlesbrough-based N-Sign has opened its Safety Sign Superstore in Church Road, Stockton, after investing £120,000 in the outlet.
Company director Alun Pearson decided to open the store in response to a demand for all types of safety signs, which he said businesses in the area previously had to purchase by mail order.
N-Sign, which was established seven years ago, has recently worked with major players in Teesside’s process sector. It completed the Huntsman/Sabic name change at Wilton, and the change in name of Terra in Billingham to Growhow.
The business, which merged with the Stockton Engraving company earlier this year, also has a fabrication site in Middlesbrough and a trophy and safety sign shop in Stockton.
It employs 20 people on Teesside, after taking on four more staff since the merger with Stockton Engraving Company.
Last year, N-Sign also enjoyed success at the first ever Tees Valley Energy and Environment Awards.
The company won the Best New Product accolade for the development of a recycled street name plate.
