Let’s do it for Dave
TEES Valley motor spares staff are powering forward in their battle to keep a national cup, in memory of a friend and colleague who died at just 48.
Last year, staff at motor dealer Sherwoods, which has operations in Darlington, Stockton and Northallerton, lifted the Trade Club Cup, thanks to the efforts of Dave Carr of Norton.
He died of a heart attack earlier this year but his co-workers have pledged to “do it for Dave” as they reach this year’s final of the national contest.
“He was an absolutely lovely guy and this left a very big hole in our lives,” said Sherwoods’ group parts manager Andy Hodgson.
“We all want to retain the trophy this year in his memory and as we go into the final will be doing it for Dave.”
Almost 300 Vauxhall dealers nationwide compete for the Trade Club Cup.
Staff have until the end of December to supply as many parts as possible to their own customers and other trade outlets.
