Cravens given gold for their zoo campaign

A NORTH-EAST advertising business has picked up a prestigious award for its work on London Zoo’s Gorilla Kingdom.

Newcastle-based Cravens has picked up the Gold Award at the Visit London Awards for its campaign for the £5.3m attraction, a campaign which it beat 10 other agencies to secure.

The award follows a year in which the company has increased its activities in online advertising, an area which it believes will help to significantly increase its £3m turnover and 33-strong workforce.

Phil Coverdale, managing director at Cravens, said: “We have built up quite an impressive profile over the last two years, especially within the sports and leisure business and this award recognises our hard work in these sectors.”

The firm works on behalf of some of the most recognised brands in the country and has a strong presence in the North-East, having previously worked on advertising campaigns for Alnwick Gardens and the Newcastle Falcons rugby team, as well as Northern Rock, which it has worked with for over 25 years.

James Bailey, marketing manager at ZSL London Zoo, said: “The success of this campaign is testament to the creative input and hard work received from Cravens and the team here at ZSL London Zoo.

“Winning the Gold award was an outstanding achievement, not least because of the number of renowned organisations we were up against, and we are proud to have been recognised in this highly competitive category.”
