Landid looking to build on success story at Doxford

DEVELOPER Landid is looking into expanding Doxford International Business Park in Sunderland with a new office scheme providing nearly 30,000sqft of space.

Landid, founded by Trevor Silver, the former head of Doxford developer Akeler, has put in an application to Sunderland City Council for the new block on Camberwell Way, close to the A19.

The block would sit on a development site of 2.5 acres, around one hectare, and would benefit from 90 car parking spaces.

Landid counts existing Doxford tenants Nike and T-Mobile among its clients, but has not commented on any potential occupier of the new block. Landid, registered in Leeds, has been involved in some major schemes including business parks in Leatherhead and Staines in Surrey.

Doxford International Business Park has proved a huge success since it was begun in the early 1990s.

The 125-acre site at the junction of the A19 and A690 Durham Road has attracted some high profile tenants, employing a total of 8,000 staff in buildings totaling 1.3m sqft.

The development is valued for good quality accommodation and convenient road links to the rest of the North-East.

Nobody from Landid or Mott MacDonald was available to comment on the new office scheme.
