New premises for Teesside Mercedes Benz specialist

A TEESSIDE Mercedes Benz specialist has expanded its operation with a £400,000 move to new premises.

Merc-Spec, which specialises in servicing and repairs of Mercedes Benz vehicles, has moved to a new 7,500sq ft site at Newcomen Road, Skippers Lane Industrial Estate.

Established in 1993, the firm also sells Mercedes Benz commercial vans and employs nine staff.

The family firm is headed by Graham Hutchinson, managing director, who runs the company with wife Amanda and daughter Zoe.

“We’ve made the move to bigger premises which have a better working environment,” he said.

“We can hold more stock here, we have more service ramps and now have two MOT automatic testing lanes.”

The company has purchased the premises at Skippers Lane Industrial Estate and invested in new equipment. “In total we’ve invested about £400,000,” added Mr Hutchinson.

“We are now looking to develop the business and hope to take on more staff in 2008.”
