St James’s Park date for Sir Clive

ENGLAND’S World Cup winning rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward will be calling on his experience of building a victorious team when he addresses the North East Contact Centre Conference next month.

The former coach, who is now head of performance at the British Olympic Association in the run-up to the 2012 London Games, will focus on leadership, partnership and teamwork in his keynote address to delegates at the event at St James’s Park in Newcastle.

The event – the second year such a conference has been held in the region – will concentrate on technological advances and the future direction of the industry. Peter Shields, One NorthEast’s sector specialist for contact centres, said: “The shape of the market will be very different five years from now.

“So too will the way people access services, with technology, particularly the internet, playing an ever increasing role. We need to plan ahead and anticipate change.”

The contact centre industry employs more than 53,000 people in the North East – around 5% of the region’s working population.

The conference takes place on March 13. To register, telephone (01642) 803973 or visit www.contactcentre conference.com
