The awards, known as the Oscars of the Tourism industry are organised by VisitBritain and recognise tourism excellence in a number of areas.
The announcement comes in time for British Tourism Week that starts on Monday.

Seafield Caravan Park, Seahouses, Northumberland
Bed and Breakfast of the Year
The Old Manse, Chatton, Alnwick, Northumberland

The Mill Granary Cottages, County Durham

Sunderland International Airshow
Margaret Fay, chairman of One NorthEast said: “This announcement is fantastic recognition of the quality of the tourism businesses in the region and demonstrates that here in North East England we are among the best in the country.
“These four businesses cover a wide example of what is on offer in the region and it’s fantastic to see that so many of our accommodation providers are being recognised nationally. We have had great success in these awards with two Gold winners last year – Alnwick Castle and Once Brewed Tourist Information Centre. ”
The winners will be announced at a national awards ceremony in St George’s Hall, Liverpool, on April 23.
