Elite ‘home from home’
AN ENTERPRISING Teesside-based executive chauffeur service has moved into the property market.
Chauffeur Elite UK, of Eaglescliffe, claims to be the first in the North East to offer travel weary dealmakers a home-from-home as part of its elite package.
Managing director Katrina Rosser said the firm spent so much time ferrying clients from rail and air terminuses to hotel rooms to freshen up before meetings, that it made sense to invest in its own, discreet pads in Thornaby.
The two two-bed apartments were built by the firm’s sister company, TR Developments.
“I believe we are the only company in the region offering this service on a nightly as well as a weekly basis,” said Ms Rosser, whose blue chip clients include AK Kvaerner and Dow Chemicals.
A spokesperson for Haltermann, part of the Dow Chemicals group, said giving visitors an alternative to faceless hotels was “an excellent idea”.
“It also allows guests the freedom to relax at their own pace without the constraints of a hotel.”
Chauffeur Elite, which is barely a year old, has grown rapidly on the back of Teesside’s expanding bluechip community to employ seven staff. It said there was no shortage of business magnates demanding luxury service among its 80-plus customers, but declined to divulge who was on the ‘most powerful passenger’ list.
“Our service is completely confidential,” said Ms Rosser.
