NEWS from PD Ports continues to build confidence in the economic regeneration of the Tees Valley.
Recent approval of plans to provide a £300m deep sea container terminal was greeted with excitement across the region.
Today, the ambition and vision behind the port strategy is further emphasised with the announcement of a green light being given to the creation of a £50m import centre.
This project - the first part of which could be operational by next summer - will bring 800 direct jobs, and many more among suppliers and logistic companies serving the centre. But it will do so much more than that.
The massive overall development plans for PD Ports will position Teesport as a major portcentric logistics hub in the UK - and a major driver in the regeneration of the whole Tees Valley.
