Brothers share in a new venture

TWO brothers have joined forces to develop their business ventures which will help boost turnover and employment levels.

CLS Dual Fuel Ltd and Cleaner Air Solutions (CASL), owned by Gary Bowden, and Lonsdale and Bowden (L&B), owned by Sean Bowden and Philip Lonsdale, have bought one acre of land at Meadowfield Industrial Estate in Durham from One NorthEast.

The deal has led to the creation of a 6,500sqft workshop, offices and a warehouse and four industrial units spanning 9,000sqft at a development cost of £1.2m.

CLS Dual Fuel Ltd was established in 2000 and specialises in converting petrol engine vehicles into LPG autogas dual fuel.

It was originally located in Bearpark, County Durham, employing 14 staff. The expansion is set to create up to 18 new jobs over 18 months.

Sister company CASL was established in 2004 and employs four staff. It specialises in supplying air filtration systems and solar energy panels.

L&B was established ten years ago in Durham City and provides residential and industrial accommodation to the Durham rental market. Business partners Sean Bowden and Philip Lonsdale joined forces with Sean’s brother Gary to purchase the land at Meadowfield Industrial Estate and build four industrial units, currently available for rent.
