Windows opening for Vikki

A TELLY addict has turned her obsession for her favourite TV show into a business by snapping up a potentially lucrative franchise.

Tynesider Vikki Scott has turned her passion for home improvement shows such as Property Ladder and Grand Designs into a venture by acquiring the North East franchise of nationals blinds company British Blinds.

Now the 34-year-old’s only grand design is to make a success of her first business, supplying and fitting blinds to homes across the region.

Mrs Scott first caught the DIY bug when she and husband John spent two years renovating their South Tyneside home.

The mother-of-two said: “It got me obsessed with homes and interiors and now I’m a fan of all the big shows.

“Grand Designs, Property Ladder, Homes under the Hammer, Location Location – I watch them all.

“I’ve wanted to work for myself for a long time now, and I thought what better than a business to improve people’s homes – which blinds do really quickly.
