Calling in for growth advice

MIDDLESBOROUGH- based financial advisor Vantis has launched a technology and telecoms group as the two sectors strengthen their presence on Teesside.

The division includes accountants and business advisers who specialise in providing accounting, business advisory and tax planning services to firms from start-ups to established companies, with particular focus on owner-managed and entrepreneurial businesses.

Partner Joanne Regan said the firm had already assisted a start-up mobile phone application provider in putting together a strategy for fundraising, which included issuing a prospectus to raise up to £4m.

It also claimed to have saved more than £1.5m in tax for clients investing in research and development.

She said: “Companies within this sector can benefit from research and development tax credits which can help alleviate some of the costly burden of initial set up, product development and marketing.”

She added failure to address the need for a growth management strategy was responsible for the downfall of many businesses.
