Faye’s not short on big ideas

A WOMAN from Thirsk has launched her own petite fashion label to make a big statement about being small.
Five foot tall Faye Clements is the brains behind Shortbred, an online petite fashion store targeting women under 5ft 3in.
She has designed a range of humorous T-shirts, which celebrate and poke fun at the petite frame by carrying slogans such as “titch”, “pixie” and “short bird”.
Faye says: “Shortbred is about making clothing fun and exciting. There's a huge lack of excitement about petite brands in the UK.”
She has set her sights on making the company into a large clothing line offering jackets, hooded tops and trousers.
“Even though some shops do have a petite section, often the clothes are really boring and bland and you're really limited for choice”, she says.
