FOUR Seasons Health Care, which runs 58 nursing homes in the North-east, including Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Seaton Carew, has come top of its sector for success in training staff for NVQs.
Four Seasons, which is one of the biggest care providers in the region with about 3,000 beds, saw an 81.9% success rate for the year, according to the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
It is also one of the latest Teesside companies to sign the employers’ Skills Pledge, a national initiative aimed at encouraging employers to raise the skill levels of their workforce.
Jane Biggs, Four Seasons’ training manager, said: “Training is at the forefront of our drive to ensure the highest standard of care for our residents and to provide job satisfaction and personal development for our staff.
“We are very proud of our record when it comes to training and development, and we were delighted to be named top of the tree in the health care sector by the LSC.”
National account manager at the LSC National Employers Service, Trina Mumby, said: “This is a great achievement by the team and demonstrates the commitment by Four Seasons to invest in their staff.”
The Skills Pledge campaign is being spearheaded in the region by the LSC North East, with support from the Confederation of British Industry and the North East Chamber of Commerce.
