Finalists just keep winning

FINALISTS IN the nebusiness awards are already reaping the financial benefits of being associated with one of the region's premier business trophies.

One runner-up in the Tees Valley regional event said it had secured £150,000 in new contracts within weeks of being placed.

TAS Engineering Consultants, based in Stockton, said the publicity it received had generated three new projects, leading to five additional engineering and commercial vacancies.

The three projects, for electrical arc flash, site systems safety and electrical detail design came after TAS’ electrical safety services were profiled in the Tees Valley finals.

It is now recruiting for electrical, instrumentation, automation and control engineers and a part-time marketing assistant.

“I am over the moon with increase in awareness of our services and new projects from the business awards,” said TAS managing director John Maplesden. “The new appointments will strengthen our engineering and senior management team, helping TAS Engineering to grow and satisfy the massive current regional and national demand for our services.”

Cool Blue PR, which pipped TAS to win the services category, said it had been inundated with calls of congratulation from business leaders in the region, which led directly to it being put on the list to pitch for business with two sizable organisations - one in the property sector and the other in IT services.

“Winning the Tees Valley Service Award has been instrumental in gaining a number of new commercial opportunities and has significantly raised our professional profile,” said managing director Tanya Garland.

“It has also given our team a terrific morale boost.”
