AROUND 40 jobs will be created at a company which helps protect workers from fire.
Darchem Engineering Limited (DEL) in Stockton is expanding after winning more clients around the world for the fire protection systems it makes for the offshore, petrochemical and nuclear industries.
The firm has also won a £315,000 Selective Finance for Investment grant from One NorthEast to bolster its expansion projects, which will include the extension of its insulation systems facility and thermal protection business unit.
Andrew Taylor, commercial manager, said: “Demand has increased so much in recent months that we needed to increase our resources. Investing in new state-of-the-art equipment and expanding the capacity of our existing facilities has given us a competitive edge and created a number of valuable jobs in the region.”
Darchem Engineering has a strong presence in the global marketplace, exporting 40% of its sales.
