DARLINGTON-BASED national health club group Bannatyne’s is nearing completion of an £800,000 spa development in its home town.
With just weeks to go before opening, managing director Nigel Armstrong, left, took time out with Darren Hurst, contracts manager for Tees Valley builder Rok, which has overseen the three-storey project, to receive some executive pampering from beauty therapist Cassie Fletcher.
The Haughton Road spa, due to open in May, will be the first among entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne’s clubs to offer state-of-the art therapy facilities.
Earlier this year, the group announced it was to invest £16m in its luxury health and hotel group, but said Darlington was likely to be the last major project in the Tees Valley ‘for the time being’.
