WILTON-BASED Centre For Process Innovation has taken on management of a European network which will help the region’s firms fund expansion, research and development.
The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) was established in January by the European Commission to assist businesses, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises.
The regional EEN team will now be managed by CPI and aims to help North-east firms expand into Europe and secure Euro funding for research and development.
Nigel Perry, chief executive at CPI, said: “This is an important opportunity for us to make a difference to the North-east by providing the advice and support needed for companies to take the greatest advantage of the funding and opportunities available from Europe.”
CPI has launched the regional EEN in partnership with regional development agency One NorthEast.
An event focusing on grants and tenders will be held by the EEN team, on June 4 at the Hilton Hotel, Gateshead to officially launch the network. To register for the event, visit www.een-northeast.co.uk.
