A MIDDLESBROUGH-based autocare company has revealed it has earmarked further sites “in the North-east and Yorkshire” after opening a new £2.5m site in Knaresborough.
North Eastern Tyre and Exhausts, which has eight outlets including sites in Middlesbrough, Brotton, Marske and Guisborough, said it had “significant and aggressive” investment plans to expand the business.
Executive director Roger Griggs said: “We are looking to increase turnover by up to £3m in our next financial year which runs from October 2008. We plan to invest significantly in this region.”
Recently the company came seventh in Motor Trader's annual review of the 75 best performing independent garages in the UK, and was named the fourth strongest independent autocare outfit in terms of growth over the last 12 months, recording a 19.2% gain in turnover to £39.8m.
Mr Griggs said: “We have recently undergone a strategic restructure to strengthen the company at board level and this recognition is payback for the tireless work everyone at North Eastern Tyres has put in”.
