ONE of the world’s most respected musicians and producers is returning to his roots as the latest entrepreneur to join a major conference in the North East.
Sunderland-born songwriter and multi-media entrepreneur Dave Stewart is most famous for being one half of the Eurythmics alongside Annie Lennox in a career spanning 25 years.
Stewart will speak during a black tie celebration dinner following the Entrepreneurs’ Forum fifth annual conference, Progres5ive, at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton on Thursday.
The conference, with 300 entrepreneurs and business leaders in attendance, will hear from speakers including event promoter Harvey Goldsmith, supermodel and businesswoman Elle Macpherson, motor company boss Charles Morgan and the founder of Hotel Chocolat, Angus Thirlwell.
The evening includes the presentation of the Entrepreneur of the Year awards and entertainment from comedy impressionist Jon Culshaw of Dead Ringers fame.
Carole Beverley, chief executive of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, said: “Dave Stewart’s story is a classic of local boy making good. He is a real inspiration to people in this region.”
