SUPERMODEL Elle Macpherson added a touch of glamour as a keynote speaker at the Entrepreneurs’ Forum’s annual conference.
Now in its fifth year, the Progres5ive event held at the NewcastleGateshead Hilton yesterday attracted hundreds of delegates and a host of top-calibre speakers. Big names included Live 8 music promoter Harvey Goldsmith, Angus Thirlwell, who co-founded Hotel Chocolat, plus Sunderland-born musician and one half of the Eurythmics Dave Stewart. After dinner entertainment was provided by TV and radio impressionist Jon Culshaw.
Macpherson said she was delighted to join them and speak at the conference that Sir Bob Geldof addressed last year.
“It’s a huge honour to be asked to be here. It’s a great experience for me to get up in front of young entrepreneurs and share with them my story,” she said. “I wanted to hear about what people are doing and what they are achieving. This is a great platform.”
Macpherson is a successful entrepreneur in her own right. Her business interests include the Elle Macpherson Intimates lingerie range and she has lent her name to a body product to be sold through Boots.
