Firms sign up to help hospice raise funds
TWO more companies have signed up to support Stockton’s Butterwick Hospice Care under its new corporate partner programme.
Trustlaw Financial Services in Teesdale and Bishop Auckland-based Hathaway Roofing Limited joined 10 partners, including Marks & Spencer, Rok Building Ltd and K Home International.
The scheme was launched last October to raise additional revenues for Butterwick, which invests £3.65m each year to care for 1,500 patients and their families.
Earlier this year, Trustlaw raised £27,500 for the hospice by hosting an auction at a White Tie and Diamonds Charity Ball at Middlesbrough Football Club’s Riverside Stadium.
Managing director Stephen Gibbens said more Tees companies were actively demonstrating corporate social responsibility (CSR).
He said: “We’re not the kind of partner who just gets a chequebook out once a year. We support the hospice by giving up our time to organise events and we’re hoping to make the White Tie and Diamonds Ball an annual occasion.”
Graham Leggatt-Chidgey, chief executive of Butterwick, said the scheme could add shareholder value to companies.
“Companies can also benefit from the positive PR associated with the scheme,” he said.
