Curtis win eco contract

DARLINGTON firm, Curtis Office, has landed a £400,000 contract to furnish the new £26m Redcar and Cleveland College with eco-friendly fittings.

Curtis came up with a bespoke answer for the college’s uniquely shaped, environmentally sensitive building.

MD, Roger Curtis, said: "The furniture we are supplying has excellent environmentally sensitive credentials - which is what the college was looking for - and we have also been able to supply them with faceted furniture to fit the shape of the building and bespoke desks for teaching staff."

Redcar and Cleveland College principal, Gary Groom, said: "We had a vision from the very start of a building which would be as 'green' as we could make it within our budget. Curtis came up with excellent solutions." The new college is due to open in September this year.

Family owned Curtis previously supplied furniture to Darlington College at Catterick, Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College and the new Darlington College at Central Park, among others throughout the region.
