A TRAINING and recruitment company is creating 24 jobs and is looking to treble its turnover to £7m as it grows its business.
Peterlee-based Premium People has grown from two staff to 21 in the last two years as it expands its business recruiting people for the industrial, commercial and contact centre sectors.
It has recently opened an office in Consett and plans to have premises in Sunderland by the end of this month and in Darlington by September. Founder and managing director Paul Boyes said: “We already have quite a healthy client base in Sunderland so we want to further improve our client relations. It just provides us with access to more people.”
The Sunderland office will be staffed by 12 people and 12 more will be employed for the new Darlington office.
Mr Boyes said the business decided to open premises there because of demand from Teesside and south Durham. “We are actively being sought out by new clients,” he added.
In the last two years, the business has placed more than 800 people with clients and worked with more than 100 companies.
Mr Boyes said: “Our company’s continued success comes at a time when many are seeing a downturn in business as employers go through tough economic times.”
Premium People, which has a sister training company Premium People Development, has appointed Lee Rankin as its new head of permanent business.
He will work with Mr Boyes to develop new business in the logistics, engineering, manufacturing and oil and gas industries.
Mr Boyes added: “I am delighted to have Lee on board – his vast knowledge and expertise will help us to drive our professional permanent business to support the career development of tomorrow’s business and technology leaders.”
