Location prompts move

A TEESSIDE company which supplies PVC-u windows and doors has moved to new premises after seeing business increase in the last year.

Windowmaker (NE) was previously located on the Bon Lea Trading Estate in Thornaby, but has recently moved to new premises on Limeoak Way on the St Anne’s Industrial Estate, Stockton.

The firm has seen a 300% increase in business since switching suppliers to KBE Window Systems just before Christmas.

Tony Randall, managing director of Windowmaker, said: “The location of our new factory, adjacent to Portrack Lane, is the primary reason for the move. The area is home to many large DIY and home furnishing stores making our new site much better placed to attract passing trade than our previous location, which was rather hidden away.

“The size is fairly similar to that of our old factory but the building’s layout is much more suitable, plus we will have a specific trade counter for the first time.”

He added: “We have gone from fabricating just 50 windows a week up to an average of 200 windows.”
