Gift company moves to new offices

A GIFT company is packing up and moving to a new headquarters to make room for its expanding business.

Middlesbrough-based family firm Crystal Galleries, which has 54 staff and turned over £3m last year, plans to expand after buying a £1m new base on Skippers Lane Industrial Estate.

The bigger offices will allow it to bring all its business under one roof after merging with Middlesbrough printer Teesprint in 2001 and Shrewsbury firm Celebration Gifts in 2006.

Chairman George Lowes who founded the gift and trophy firm in 1982 and runs it with his son and daughter Jeremy and Joanne, said the new 25,000 sq ft base gave it room for growth.

Funding was provided through David Lander, relationship manager, Commercial Banking at NatWest in Tees Valley.
