Rapid growth means extra staff on Tees
MARKETING agency Adessi is to expand its Teesside operation after announcing a two-year plan to double turnover across the group.
The company, which also has offices in Newcastle and Leeds, will create five jobs at its Middlesbrough base, boost turnover to £4m and increase head count from 27 to 40.
It is also investing in a new IT system that will allow staff who work remotely to access data via a central server.
Managing director Mark Carton said the firm needed a stronger presence in Middlesbrough to cater for “rapid growth” across its Teesside client base.
He said: “Teesside remains an important part of our plans. We are currently servicing some of our Teesside clients from Newcastle and we want to be closer to the ground.
“We’re also looking to expand into North-west areas. We consider ourselves to be a North of England agency and we’re definitely not looking to up sticks and move everything to London.”
Despite a credit crunch which has seen companies scale back on their advertising and marketing budgets, Adessi is actively seeking further opportunities in the education, business-to-business (B2B) and professional services sectors.
Recently its Middlesbrough- based design team was appointed by property developer UK Land Estates to promote the iconic Tyne Bridge Tower in Newcastle.
Adessi is producing a new brand identity and supporting marketing materials for the building, which is undergoing a major refurbishment to provide new office space for businesses.
Established in 1998, Adessi has won a host of awards including the CIPR Agency of the Year in the North East PRide awards in 2007 and a Gold Award at the national Fresh Creative Design Awards for Best Illustration.
The company provides a range of marketing and communications services - including strategy and branding, public relations, design, media buying, advertising, ebusiness, telemarketing and events management - to Catterick Caravans, the Richmond Retail Forum and education providers across Teesside.
