Agreements to secure company’s expansion

SPECIALIST recruitment firm, Wilton-based TechConsult UK is to expand on the back of a succession of preferred supplier agreements signed with local engineering firms.

The latest, to provide a number of senior staff to fast-growing global engineering design and project managers Stopford, which works mainly in the petrochemical, pharma, biotech and energy sectors, was ‘just the business we want’, according to managing director Steve Guest.

As well as expanding the workforce for Norwegian-owned TechConsult’s flagship UK branch on Teesside, Mr Guest revealed that the firm has ambitions to open a second office in Aberdeen, where around 50% of his clients are placed - mainly in offshore oil and gas.

“Repeat orders are what we are going for - we’re not just about putting bums on seats, but building partnerships with companies,” said Mr Guest.

“There is a lot of activity in the Teesside area at the moment and we have some good candidates with a depth of experience. We should be able to find staff for Stopford on our doorstep.”

The first tranche of up to a dozen recruits for Stopford will be for its Wilton and Cheshire offices as well as two major contracts in Sri Lanka and Abu Dahbi.
