Teesside on display to the world
A £3m publicity campaign featuring the faces of leading local bosses will tell the world that Teesside is open for business.
The next stage in the Regional Development Agency’s successful long-running ‘Passionate people Passionate places’ campaign, which has previously focused on promoting the region as a leisure and tourism destination, will now turn the spotlight on its business strengths.
The RDA said it was responding to feedback from 400 regional companies and their bosses as well as national research among the business community which showed poor awareness of the region’s economic and business infrastructure.
Margaret Fay, chairman of One NorthEast, said: “The ‘Passionate people Passionate places’ campaign has successfully promoted North East England’s best assets across the world. Our aim with the next stage is to focus on North East England’s business strengths and create an environment that supports our business community.
“Hundreds of companies are now using the North East England logo and branding in their marketing helping us spread the message. Others are talking up the region and reinforcing the campaign whenever they can. They have told us they are keen to do more and we want to give them the tools to do this.”
The campaign will include a series of media advertisements starting on September 29 in national newspapers that will communicate the depth of opportunity in the region’s key sectors.
A revamped www.northeastengland.co.uk website will let people download an ambassador toolkit including recruitment information, business maps, regional facts and figures, sector information and a downloadable fact card.
Presentation tools, including PowerPoint slides and text for speeches and presentations, will also be available together with sample itineraries for sector-specific site visits.
