Rok’s foundations grow
TEES Valley building and maintenance company Rok has launched a new business stream following a clutch of acquisitions.
Rok Plumbing, Heating and Electrical has been established after the addition of five specialist plumbing, heating and electrical businesses to the company’s fold during the last two years, employing more than 1,000 staff.
Rok said an increasing amount of its work would be in the renewable energy market and it saw no let-up in recruitment.
Chief executive, Garvis Snook, said: “The formation of Rok Plumbing, Heating and Electrical provides a specialist service with dedicated technicians employed directly by us.”
He added: “In these challenging economic times, Rok continues to grow and expand, particularly focusing our efforts towards sustainable markets.”
The subsidiary will operate under the umbrella of Rok plc.
On average, 55 new recruits complete Rok’s induction programme each month.
Operations director, John Samuel, said the company had a strategy to deliver “long-term sustainable growth”.
