We’re raising a toast to successful century

THIRTY long-standing businesses gathered in the region last night to commemorate a century of success in the North East.

The dinner, thrown in Newcastle by Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets, also included companies tipped for significant growth over the next few years. Tees Valley guests included Middlesbrough law firm Dickinson Dees, Darlington Building Society and Hartlepool brewery Camerons

Mike Mullaney, North-east director for Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets, said it was an opportunity for the bank to emphasise its commitment to “supporting customers through the good times and the bad”. “We have worked with many of them through different economic circumstances and the relationships are still strong today. Despite the market conditions, we are still doing business and have much to look forward to by continuing to work with successful businesses in the North-east,” he said.

Lloyds has swelled its regional corporate team by five-fold over the last three years.

“We recognise the significant number of owner-managed businesses in the North-east, so have created the region’s only dedicated corporate finance team to deliver all debt ‘cash out’ type transactions,” added Mark Stokes, head of Large Corporate & PACS .
