EOS building for the future
NEWTON Aycliffe manufacturer EOS has invested £150,000 in new machinery to further improve its productivity and meet growing order numbers.
The state-of-the-art machinery will be used in the steel frame-making process and will speed up production.
This investment comes on the back of EOS recently revealing it is moving into a new market, which has the potential to nearly double its 32-strong workforce and boost annual turnover from £3m to £6m. EOS has created a two-storey house which takes only six weeks to construct at its factory and two days to erect on site.
Orders for its new product already have been secured from leisure park owners.
EOS - which designs and manufactures light-gauge steel framing systems for the European construction industry - believes it also will attract interest from the social housing sector because of the low cost and speed of construction compared to traditional homes.
