Still time to join employer talks
TIME is running out to sign up to Teesside’s first Employer Engagement Conference, which takes place at the Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium on Thursday.
Headline speaker at the event will be the Government’s 14-19 education chief Chris Tweedale who will face issues surrounding work-based learning in the curriculum head on with employers who are being asked to support teachers and trainers in finding appropriate placements.
Key local employers already supporting the event are Corus, Johnson Matthey, and Marks & Spencer.
Workshops will look at specific issues relating to work-based learning for 14-19 year olds and solutions to problems faced by employers.
Delegates are being urged to complete an online survey in advance of the conference, which will help shape future initiatives.
The survey can be found at nebusiness.co.uk/educationsurvey. For further information, call 01642 813776.
