LEADING economist Ian Shepherdson has joined the board of one of the North’s biggest housing companies.
City and Wall Street economist Shepherdson, a Journal columnist who lives in Gosforth in Newcastle, joins the 12-strong board of Newcastle-based Isos Housing Group as a non-executive co-optee. He will be heavily involved in strategic planning and provide expertise on financial and treasury management.
As Chief US Economist for global economic analysis company, High Frequency Economics, Shepherdson (pictured) currently writes a daily publication, Daily Notes on the United States, which is read by investors and policymakers in more than 20 countries.
Prior to this he was chief US economist for HSBC Securities Inc. in New York, where his views guided the company’s senior decision makers and clients. He also spent six years with HSBC in London, latterly as chief UK economist. He was named top US forecaster of 2003 by the Wall Street Journal.
He said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Isos board. My interest in housing extends back many years and I’m looking forward to using my experience to assist in strategic decision making.”
